The Financial Account Manager (FAM) role in our RealPage Utility Management (RUM) team is critical to the financial health and success of our team and our clients. This role requires expertise and enjoyment in working with clients at all levels from property managers and accounting team members to corporate level contacts to ensure our clients’ holistic financial health. Also works closely with internal teams to develop strategies based on client’s needs to ensure our client’s long term success and partnership with RealPage and RUM.

 

Strong understanding of general accounting and finance areas is preferred, including: AP/AR, accruals, check processing, account reconciliation, budgeting/forecasting, credit card and ACH management and reconciliation, funding requests and failed financial transactions. Candidate must also have very strong time management and organizational skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate financial needs, gaps and action items to clients to ensure timely response and resolution to client needs and inquiries.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Financial Account Manager position is a client-facing role which requires strong functional and system knowledge of RealPage invoice processing tools. This role requires expertise and enjoyment in working with clients at all levels, from property managers and accounting team members to corporate level contacts, to ensure our clients’ holistic financial health.  The FAM also works closely with internal teams to develop strategies based on client’s needs to ensure our client’s long-term success.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary liaison for mid-level / strategic client accounting team, responding as necessary to address complex client inquiries, more difficult questions and needs related to the RealPage Utility Management Utility Expense Management solution
  • Act as client advocate for mid/strategic level clients to internal teams and ensure appropriate responsiveness to client questions and concerns by clearly articulating financial needs, gaps and action items to clients to ensure timely response and resolution to client needs and inquiries.
  • Use quarterly/monthly client scorecards to monitor client Utility Expense Management health, and proactively identify and recommend improvement opportunities to ensure long-term success of invoice processing performance
  • Conduct client and property analysis and track to completion to reduce number of validations and disconnections
  • Complete new client transition process to reduce time required to successfully redirect accounts and number of ongoing redirections
  • Perform primary job responsibilities only needing management assistance with high level escalations

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Two years of experience in general accounting, including AP/AR, accruals, check processing, account reconciliation, budgeting/forecasting, credit card and ACH Management and reconciliation, funding management and financial transactions analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience taking initiative and managing time effectively to ensure timely response and resolution to client needs and inquiries
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to creative solutions to unique customer problems
  • Demonstrated track record of strong relationship building skills that enable long-term growth and opportunity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate customer needs and expectations
  • Moderately proficient with Microsoft skills - MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously and collaborating with peers under competing deadlines

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Property management or multifamily housing industry experience
  • BA Degree or equivalent combination of experience
  • Able to travel if requested by Account Manager or client for account reviews
