The RealPage Marketing Operations team is looking for an experience Marketing Automation Strategist to join our team. The Marketing Automation Strategist owns and drives all marketing automation systems and processes, including designing, developing, and executing configuration and workflows to support Go-to-Market campaigns, data centralization, attribution and reporting, performance optimization and planning.


You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to implement and optimize campaigns, including working to improve the entire lead generation and prospect-customer journey life cycle. You will also support the business through the execution and analysis of email marketing efforts, with a particular focus on lead flows, campaign attribution, automated email programs, and customer segmentation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a database and/or CRM environment and maintenance, preferably in addition to experience with building email campaigns, landing pages, data segmentation, HTML/CSS email coding, and lead scoring.


  • Creating marketing automation implementation plans, including lead-to-bookings attribution, database requirements, automation configuration and functional mapping of integrations
  • Overseeing and executing marketing automation audits, implementations, integrations and rebuilds
  • Conduct regular business process review meetings and define technical/functional requirements for marketing automation and CRM updates and enhancements
  • Developing functional expectations and business architecture, in collaboration with the Marketing Data Operations Manager
  • Documenting marketing automation user stories and manage lead flow documentation updates as system configuration changes occur
  • Designing and building campaign workflows, including audience segmentation rules, validation rules, triggers, alerts, and automated responses
  • Assigning and tracking lead attribution between marketing automation (Marketo, HubSpot and Pardot), ABM, Google Analytics, Ad platforms, and CRM systems (primarily Salesforce)
  • Building multi-step communication journeys that include integrated email and SDR outreach
  • Building and debugging HTML/CSS for both forms and email content
  • Planning, segmentation and build out of automation in support of ABM and targeted content programs
  • Owning marketing automation testing, troubleshooting and Quality Assurance for all programs, workflow rules, list segments, email sends, campaign connections and scoring
  • Making recommendations on tracking, reporting, benchmarking and analysis to measure success of integrated marketing programs
  • Establishing KPIs and configuring standard reports in Pardot and Salesforce to measure tactic and campaign engagement, as well as business impact
  • Executing email and cross-channel marketing programs with a focus on segmentation, contact strategy, and cross-channel customer journey building
  • Developing a testing plan to continuously drive increased engagement and conversion of leads through various stages of the funnel


  • BA, BS Degree or combination of college-level education and work experience
  • 5+ years of CRM systems experience along with 3+ years of Marketing Automation experience such as Marketo, Adobe Campaign, Oracle Marketing Cloud (Eloqua), or Pardot (Pardot experience strongly preferred)
  • Advanced user knowledge of marketing automation best practices, including campaign organization, design, execution, measurement and database management (knowledge of Pardot preferred)
  • Experience with delivery of major marketing automation enhancement projects, especially implementations and integrations
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating into marketing/technical requirements documentation for automation projects
  • Relevant email marketing experience with an emphasis on customer segmentation in a test and learn environment
  • Strong understanding of email and data privacy regulations across all relevant regions and ability to enforce internally
  • Coding proficiency with HTML and CSS, ability to identify coding issues that cause rendering issues, and have experience implementing new email templates
  • Understanding of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, funnel metrics and levers to move the needle on generating qualified leads and accelerating opportunity and pipeline velocity
  • Experience with generating analytics reports, quality assurance testing, and data acquisition and analysis
  • Experience designing and implementing A/B multivariate tests
  • Able to perform under pressure, prioritize and deliver results in a demanding and fast-paced environment that requires fresh thinking and innovation
  • High aptitude to learn and adopt new applications to improve efficiency and generate results
  • B2B technology experience a plus



  • Pardot (Pardot experience strongly preferred)
