ABOUT THE TEAM

The Manager, Corporate Accounting reports to the Director, Accounting, and is responsible for managing the Company’s operational accounting processes. The Manager, Corporate Accounting reviews journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly reporting; serves as the liaison between the accounting function and internal management; provides critical analysis of changes in account balances; identifies best practices; standardizes documentation; trains and mentors the operational accounting team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform monthly financial statement close and related reporting; constantly drives improvements through automation and process refinement/efficiency
  • Develop and implement critical financial policies, procedures, and internal controls and plays a leading role in directing change initiatives and process improvements.
  • Direct the expense and revenue cycle process, develop and refine operations, oversee and train existing accounting employees such that they can perform their jobs accurately and expediently with minimal oversight.
  • Ensure all journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly reporting packages are completed according to the monthly close schedule
  • Performs general ledger account analysis, including documenting variance explanations and compared to prior periods.
  • Other projects or duties, as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • CPA and Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in an operational accounting leadership role
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel, including V-lookups, functions, and pivot tables
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, accounting procedures, and internal controls
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, problem-solving, and results
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and creating variance analyses
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction
  • Flexibility in adapting to a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Previous experience with Cognos, Power BI, MS Access, SQL preferred
  • Experience working at a publicly traded company or multi-entity environments preferred
