This is a critical role for supporting one of the largest Microsoft database environments in the United States. The team consists of 14 members working in India and the United States working together to provide exceptional customer service. The SQL Server Architect will help align business goals with technical design, focusing on performance tuning existing SQL Server databases.

RealPage is looking for a SQL Server Performance Architect for our SQL Server environment working alongside other Database Architects and senior DBAs. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and administering various database management systems in an Enterprise environment to support our many product lines on Microsoft Windows. You will also be involved in reviewing, analyzing and documenting existing architecture. Recommend best practices for reconfiguring existing databases (technologies, coding standards, connectivity, etc.). Be part of finding Root cause configuration issues while focusing on Database Performance Tuning.

• Expert level proficiency in SQL Server - architecture, configuration, stored procedures, queries
• Highly skilled in urgent real time troubleshooting
• Experience with performance tuning
• Understanding of index design and performance-tuning techniques
• Query Tuning Techniques
• Parameter Sniffing
• Expert Knowledge of SQL Internal & DMVs
• Storage optimization and Monitoring.
• Excellent understanding of database design and development
• Experience working with Extended events/SQL profiler and other troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with very large databases and/or data warehousing
• Familiarity with RDBMS principles, database design and normalization
• Ability to develop scripts to load test data
• Perform problem determination (root cause analysis) and document the source of problems and their resolution.
• Microsoft Best Practices with regards to developing T-SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Microsoft Best Practices with regards to database maintenance thresholds for consistency checks, index fragmentation, statistics, backups, restores.
• Reviewing execution plans and not only determine possible indexing changes, but also know how to refactor T-SQL statements to achieve optimal performance.

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer science or related field is strongly desired. MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus
• 10+ years of experience with SQL database engineering and administration
• SQL Server 2008/2008R2/2012/2014/2016/2019
• Experience with data migration from legacy systems.
• Strong scripting skills and working knowledge of Powershell.
• Strong experience with performance optimization and tuning with database applications
• Expert knowledge on Always-On Availability Groups and Listener
• Strong Windows systems, clustering and scripting proficiency.
• Familiarity with database backup and recovery strategies.
• Strong familiarity with SSIS, SSRS and Analysis Services.
• Experience with TDE encryption.
• SQL Server STIG hardening and accreditation.

• Good Communication skills
• Working knowledge of Azure and other Public clouds.
• Experience with working in a Collorative environment (onshore & Offshore)
