The Software Engineer  applies the skills they have learned to build features on RealPage software. They require little oversight and should be able to develop software that follows all established engineering best practices.  They are the workhorse of the engineering team delivering the majority of fixes and enhancements to existing Ruby/Rails RealPage products.


  • Design, develop, maintain, test and deploy software primarily developed in Ruby on Rails

  • Develop mastery of tooling and coding best practices of your team

  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables

  • Follow engineering best practices including TDD and code reviews

  • Conduct performance tuning/scaling and pay down technical debt

  • Participate in agile practices and ceremonies

  • Troubleshoot and triage issues #LI-CP1 #LI-REMOTE


  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2+ years work experience as a Ruby on Rails Developer

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience working with teams.

  • Experience working w/ numerous client-side development technologies

  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.


  • Experience with engineering best practices: TDD, CI and Scrum

  • Proficiency with SQL to be used with Postgres and MySQL

  • Proficiency with source code management in git

  • Experience working Agile scrum teams
