RealPage is searching for an experienced VP of Product Development to lead a diverse development team that builds and support the RealPage GoDirect Marketing Suite, the RealPage Contact Center and our Unified Communications platform. The responsibilities of a VP of Product Development include leading a team of up to 100 developers and testers and collaborating with product managers and operations to simplify our systems and drive an outstanding customer experience.

To be successful as a VP of Product Development, you should have prior organizational leadership experience, be able to collaborate with team members, and be a strategic problem-solver. A top-notch candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, an ability to connect with other engineers and developers, and a have solid foundation in modern web-based software design.


  • Leading the team through management and mentorship
  • Contributing to recruitment activities
  • Consult with product management to analyze, plan and execute projects
  • Review design, architecture and delegate technical responsibilities as needed
  • Provide guidance and insight to executive leadership
  • Assist in resolving issues that arise with customers
  • Ensure that quality standards are consistently met
  • Co-develop technical strategy with the architecture team
  • Inspire loyalty, engender trust, and attract talent
  • Energize people and foster cross-functional collaboration
  • Make tough decisions when necessary without extensive meetings and analysis
  • Distill complex issues in a succinct fashion of communication


  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of software development experience
  • Strong organizational leadership skills
  • Experience in working with senior leaders / stakeholders
  • Experience creating hiring strategies to develop quality teams
  • Previous working experience in software design and developing customer-oriented platforms
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Experience managing teams building software with open-source (front-end and back-end) and Microsoft back-end technologies (PHP, Ruby on Rails, Java, .NET, Angular, React, Vue)
  • Must be knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and change management.
