We are looking for an Internal Technical Support Engineer to join our growing and diverse team. We need someone who is patient, thorough, detailed, and empathetic when providing application support for both our primary customer facing web application and the tools used by our client services team to assist our customers and manage the application. 


The role serves as the bridge between our client services and software engineering groups for communication, escalation and problem management, and is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to get a start in software development. A successful candidate will have a strong degree of curiosity, willingness to learn new technologies, ask questions and develop their technical skills. Entry level proficiency in coding and a strong interest in software application development as a future career are recommended. Ideally stemming from a Bootcamp or Computer Science Course completion.


This role is integrated with our engineering team and the ideal candidate will be someone who can work on our Ruby on Rails and React applications when the opportunity arises. You will also be mentored by senior engineers. 


  • Provide general and technical application and system support to our client services and customer support teams, and serve as the initial escalation point from client services to development. 
  • Troubleshoot data integrations via API and flat file loads. 
  • Use Ruby on Rails to troubleshoot application issues, performance and functional problems within the application. 
  • Assist with customer setup within our system. 
  • Help report, triage and mitigate bugs. 
  • Debug code as part of bug reporting and troubleshooting, with mentorship from senior developers. 
  • Assist with application testing, help write and organize feature and process documentation


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English. 
  • Experience with Ruby or a similar programming language, basic understanding of software development workflow. 
  • Curiosity and interest in continuous learning, excitement about learning new technologies and solving problems. 
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues and describe such issues in written reports and tickets. 
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal to non-technical coworkers. 


Proficiency with SQL for troubleshooting and scripting changes to data. 


Bonus Points for: 

  • Experience with Postgres database platform. 
  • Experience with React applications. 
  • Experience working with Git for source control. 
  • Experience analyzing logs for troubleshooting web applications.
