As the Information Technology Risk Manager, you will be the focal point to ensure information security risk is completely and accurately managed in our money services business.  You will be expected to implement and manage risk management practices to ensure information security risk is within tolerances as well as aligned to that expected by cybersecurity regulations.  In performing this role, you will closely partner with information security teams as well as the business unit while being a trusted advisor to both. You must be able to be responsible for providing broad knowledge of RealPage strategies, policies, processes, architecture and roadmaps to enable information security requirements in this critical business.


  • Build and maintain effective relationship with RealPage financial services stakeholders. Be the voice of Information Security in the division/business area and the voice of the business within Information Security.
  • Implement sound risk management capabilities to include identifying inherent risk levels, target risk levels, alignment to goals, identification of gaps, and creation/management of remediation plans.
  • Understand the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) cybersecurity regulations and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and implement risk management principles to ensure alignment with these two important requirements/frameworks.
  • Implement exception management processes that ensure flexible risk alignment exists. Ensure strongly defensible positions exist and appropriate evidence is retained for exceptions.
  • Partner with the aligned information security officers to ensure priority focus of effort to remediate gaps/exceptions. Be audit proof at all times while partnering to develop the the money services business roadmap for Information security aligned with risk appetite and overall Information Security roadmap. Align Information Security responsibilities and working practices of divisions.
  • Facilitate planning, introduction, delivery of Information Security services and initiatives to support compliance activities, security audits, security capability / maturity improvement, delivery of point services such as vulnerability assessments, project risk assessments, vendor assessments, divisional security awareness and educations
  • Deliver targeted security and risk briefings to business leadership
  • Ensure that policy compliance is appropriate to the Business Unit’s level of risk acceptance.
  • Advise stakeholders on how to achieve the relevant controls and assist with solutions to support them.
  • Where necessary ensure that processes are documented and communicated in language that is relevant and understandable to non-technical audiences.
  • Support and deliver security initiatives as needed and demonstrate and track progress to stakeholders.
  • Raise the profile of security within the organization by being pro-actively involved with stakeholders and customers.
  • Any other duties relating to the remit of a role of this standing as required by the needs of the business.


  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 4 years of experience in Risk Management, Information Security, Information Assurance and/or Cyber Security. Additional relevant experience and professional certifications will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience working within well known risk management frameworks, with NIST and the FFIEC risk processes being preferred.
  • Experience working with corporate audit, compliance and controls teams as well as external audit and regulatory examiners.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity regulations, with preference to the New York Department of Financial Services cybersecurity regulations.
  • Experience conducting IT risk assessments, communicating results, developing remediation plans and ensuring risk is continuously maintained within risk tolerances.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a wide range of audiences including technologists, executives, business stakeholders and IT team members.
  • Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • High level of personal integrity, and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
  • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Proven ability in security process and organizational design; Current understanding of Industry trends and emerging threats; and knowledge of incident response methodologies and technologies.


  • Advanced degree in applicable field
  • Professional information security certification such as CISSP, CRISC, CISA, etc
  • Technical writing for senior management
  • 8+ years of information security experience working in an infrastructure or security architecture environment.
  • Cyber security risk management experience, e.g. conducting assessments, identifying risks, and recommending solutions.
  • Expertise with NIST and ISO 27000 series, particularly NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, ISO 27001/2.
